The City of Winnsboro will hold a general election on Saturday, May 02, 2026
for the purpose of electing three (3) Alderpersons for two-year terms.

- Last Day to file or a Place on the General Election Ballot: Friday, February 13, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.
- Last day to register to vote: Thursday, April 02, 2026
- First day of early voting by personal appearance: Monday, April 20, 2026
- Last day to apply for a ballot by mail (Received NOT Postmarked): Monday, April 20, 2026
- Last day of early voting by personal appearance: Tuesday, April 28, 2026
- Last day to receive a ballot by mail: Saturday, May 02, 2026

Candidate Eligibility
Eligible candidates must:
- Be a United States citizen;
- Have been a resident of Texas for at least 12 months, as of the deadline for filing for the office;
- Alderman - Have resided in the city for at least 6 months preceding the deadline for filing for office;
- Mayor - Have resided in the city for at least 12 months preceding election day;
- Have a current voter registration certificate;
- Be 18 years of age or older upon the commencement of the term to be filled at the election;
- Not have been convicted of a felony for which he or she has not been pardoned or otherwise released from the resulting disabilities and;
- Not have been deemed mentally incompetent by a final judgment of court.
